The Joy That’s Coming Bracelet- PROJECT 8:18

Some of you know my story, and some of you may be new here — unaware of how much our journeys might overlap. Over the past ten years, God has been gently pressing on my heart to reopen old wounds — not to relive the pain, but to help others heal through it.

In 2014, just five days after I was baptized and the weekend after Father’s Day, my dad took his own life. Even now, writing that takes the air from my lungs. I can still see the flashing lights, the confusion, the heartbreak. Grief has a way of being tucked away, but it always finds its way back into the light.

A few weeks before my dad passed, he texted me saying he was struggling and didn’t know what to do. I was only 18 at the time — and I sent him the verse Romans 8:18:

“The pain that you’ve been feeling can’t compare to the joy that’s coming.”

I didn’t realize then that this same verse would be printed on the front of his funeral program just weeks later. God wastes nothing — not even the moments that break us.

The Lord has walked with me through every dark season since. There were days I didn’t want to wake up… days I believed the world would be better off without me. It hurts to write that, but it would hurt more for someone to think they’re alone in that pain.

So, if you’re reading this — I see you.

I love you.

And more importantly, the Creator of the universe sees you, loves you, and made you on purpose. You do not walk this road alone. I will gladly hold your hand, and God will hold us both. 🤍
